Our Story

Located in New York City’s iconic Gramercy Park neighborhood, Isabelle’s Osteria is an Italian restaurant specializing in contemporary classic cuisine with a twist by acclaimed Executive Chef and Partner James Tracey.

Named after a playful nickname given to his mother, Isabelle’s is a warm neighborhood restaurant with destination-worthy appeal you can come back to time and time again. For Chef Tracey, a return to the neighborhood – where he first worked at Gramercy Tavern in the 90s and later on the opening team of Craft – is a homecoming.


At Isabelle’s, Chef Tracey cooks up a comforting menu of seasonal Italian favorites with a modern twist. Tracey’s must-try dishes include Lumache with Pork Ragu & Whipped Ricotta, Bone-In Pork Chop Milanese, Lancaster County Roast Chicken and Cauliflower with Calabrian Aioli. To drink, sommelier Arman Miridzhanyan has curated a wine list of over 100 offerings, featuring Italian wines, old and new world classics alongside a rotating daily selection of more than a dozen rare, older vintages. Miridzhanyan believes in supporting artisan wine makers that farm with a respect for the land and the environment, yielding soulful wines with a sense of place and purpose that pair beautifully with chef Tracey’s seasonal cuisine. The cocktail program showcases classic, seasonal cocktails such as the Negroni, Gibson’s Martini and various Spritzes in addition to innovative beverages including the Grappa Chamomile Sour.  see photos

The Vibe

Designed by partner Dudi Sasson, the cozy, 140-seat open space features indoor and outdoor seating complete with a sprawling bar, warm woods, exposed brick, colorful wallpaper and bright vegetation. The enclosed, outdoor veranda is fully heated and private dining is available. see photos

Executive Chef & Partner

Chef James Tracey is Executive Chef/Partner of Isabelle’s Osteria, a seasonally driven Italian restaurant in New York City’s Gramercy neighborhood. A nationally acclaimed chef with over 30 years of cooking experience in the kitchens of Craft, Starr Restaurants, Gramercy Tavern, Colicchio & Sons and Lespinasse, Chef Tracey’s inspiration comes from greenmarkets and local farms, creating dishes with clean, bold flavors that best showcase the ingredients. Chef Tracey garnered Craft and Colicchio & Sons 3-star reviews from the New York Times.

Ivana Pancic a woman who wears many hats. When she started 7 years ago in hospitality industry, she didn’t except that she will find her dream job as a Maître D. Her acute sense for details helped her evolve to become the Event Coordinator. With these new responsibilities that Ivana has attained, her organization skills has elevated the experience in Isabelle’s Osteria. Throughout Ivana’s career, her dedication has earned trust of the staff and management. Having these skills, she knows and understands how to create a magical experience for every guest. She is very committed in making every event unforgettable, special and remarkable.

Arman Miridzhanyan


Arman Miridzhanyan begun his journey in restaurants in 2007 when he moved to NYC. Being of Armenian descent, Arman inherited his parents love of hospitality and joy of hosting dinners at their home. That passion coupled with a deep earning for knowledge led to his desire to learn every aspect of a restaurant. Arman brings years of fine dining experience as a server as well as over 5 years of bartending experience in NYC bars to our team. But his true passion, wine, has become the focal point of his career under the tutelage of Vladimir Kolotyan. Working in Isabelle’s Osteria, Arman has created an ever changing wine list and a seasonally curated cocktail program, many of which have quickly become our patrons favorites.
